چکیده

A transport theory is developed on the quark level to describe nucleon– nucleon collisions. We treat the strong interaction effectively by the FriedbergLee model both in its original and in its modified confining version. First we study the stability of the static three-dimensional semiclassical configuration, then we present results of the time evolution given by a Vlasov equation for the quarks coupled to a Klein-Gordon equation for the mean field. We find at higher energies that the nucleons are almost transparent, whereas at lower energies we observe a substantial interaction. At very low energies we see a fusion of our bags, which is due to the purely attractive nature of the mean field and hence is an artifact of our model. We test the confinement mechanism and find that at higher energies the nucleons are restored shortly after the collision. Ju n 19 93 A Quark Transport Theory to describe Nucleon – Nucleon Collisions ∗ †

On the basis of the Friedberg–Lee model we formulate a semiclassical transport theory to describe the phase–space evolution of nucleon–nucleon collisions on the quark level. The time evolution is given by a Vlasov–equation for the quark phase–space distribution and a Klein–Gordon equation for the mean–field describing the nucleon as a soliton bag. The Vlasov equation is solved numerically using...

Starting from a realistic one–boson–exchange–model fitted to the amplitudes of elastic nucleon–nucleon scattering and the process N N → N ∆ we perform a fully relativistic and gauge invariant calculation for the dilepton production in nucleon–nucleon collisions, including the important effect of propagating the ∆–resonance. We compare the results of our calculations with the latest experimental...

We reexamine in the relativistic transport model the dependence of kaon yield on the nuclear equation of state in heavy ion collisions at energies that are below the threshold for kaon production from the nucleon-nucleon interaction in free space. For Au+Au collisions at 1 GeV/nucleon, we find that the kaon yield measured by the Kaos collaboration at GSI can be accounted for if a soft nuclear e...

Nucleon flow and dilepton production in heavy-ion collisions

Nucleon flow in Au+Au collisions at 1 GeV/nucleon region and dilepton spectra in S+Au collisions at SPS energies are analysed in the relativistic transport model. They are shown to be sensitive to the nucleon vector and scalar potentials, respectively, and are thus useful probes of these potentials in dense matter. A recently developed effective Lagrangian with self-interactions of vector as we...

Antiproton production in Ni+Ni collisions at 1.85 GeV/nucleon is studied in the relativistic Vlasov-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model. The self-energies of the an-tiproton are determined from the nucleon self-energies by the G-parity transformation. Also, the final-state interactions of the antiproton including both rescattering and annihilation are explicitly treated. With a soft nuclear equation of sta...
